Nodding, t'Llhweiir replied, "Of course. We will be ready."

Lasiter stood, and walked out of the room. Feylan and Smallwood looked up, a bit
surprised that the CinC was leaving at that particular moment. Their attention soon
fell to t'Llhweiir, who was the last to speak to him.

After Lasiter left, she checked to see which staff were present in each
location and verified that the connection between the groups was functioning
properly and securely.

The first comm connection was that of General Harmin and his chief of staff,
Leiutenant General Skor. They were at Starfleet Marine Camp Holister.

The second comm connection was to Spacedock, where Admiral Lorin Renaud was presiding
over his command staff, accompanied by Captain Boulay.

***** Elsewhere... *****

Admiral Lasiter walked over to fleet operations central, glancing inside the doors
before continuing to the lavatory. He locked the door behind him, and used the moment
alone to collect himself. Standing in front of the mirror, bracing himself on the
counter he starred into the reflection. He wondered what he had done to deserve such
pain, such sorrow. there was a hole inside him that was once where his son had been.
While they had not been on good terms for a long time, their relationship had taken a
turn. A turn for the better. They had started talking once more, and things seemed
to be getting better. But all that was over now.

Samuel splashed soem cold water on his face to wake himself up a bit, to help clear
his mind of the torrent of emotions that was consuming him. What did the trick was an
annoying banging at the door.

Annoyed at the interruption of his moment of peace, Lasiter unlocked the door to
reveal a pissed off Captain trying to gain entry. When the Captain saw man who just
opened the lavatory door, he just about lost it. His face turned white as a sheet,
and he then broke into a run to the next nearest head. At another time the sight of
it all would have given Lasiter the greatest laugh, but not today.

He had only been gone a few minutes, and was not yet ready to return, so he walked
outside and sat down on the steps of the building. Basking in the sun, taking in the
idealic scene that was San Francisco. He loved that sight. it never failed to
improve his mood. He would sit there for a few more minutes to allow his mind to
calm, and for Carrhae to get the officers in shape for the meeting that was to come.
