"This has been an extremely difficult day for Admiral Lasiter. However, he
understands what his duty requires of him. I am certain that when the time is
right, he will allow himself to grieve."

> She said, "Admiral Renaud, is your team ready?"

> Lorin responded to t'Llwheiir, "Yes Admiral we are ready to proceed."

t'Llhweiir noticed the persons visible on the screen at Renaud's location, and
she had to restrain her body from tensing. There were few beings with whom
t'Llhweiir had difficulty maintaining at least a civil working relationship.
Lorin Renaud was one of them. The desire to break his neck was rarely far
beneath the surface, and it seemed that he always knew just what to say or do
to force the issue.

She did allow herself to frown. Her manner was cool, professional, but it did
not take a xenopsychologist to recognize that she was not pleased. "Admiral
Renaud, I don't recognize all of the personnel present. You do understand
that we will be discussing very sensitive matters."
