> Any questions anyone?"
"Sir-it has come to my attention that Admiral Bedru is on her way with her
ship back home. Permission to have her come direct to Spacedock and let her
Security attache resume their assigned tour."
Lasiter nodded. "By all means."
He then gave those gathered a once over giving them a chance to add anything.
{I will asusme that there is nothing, but I will re-write if need be}
Lasiter stood to drawl all attention to him as he gave the end of meeting speech.
"As a fleet, we have been lax in our duties. We have ignored threats and become
accustomed to Starfleet's seeming invincability. We can no longer afford to be so
lax. We can not afford to simply accept the status quo. Just doing our jobs is not
enough, we must all give 110% all of the time to bring us back to where we need to be.
The 80% that has been given in recent years is just not enough. I know there are
exceptions to what I have said. Those that put in 200% on a slow day, and I promise
that they will be recognized and rewarded for their efforts. The ills of Starfleet
and the Federation can not be solved by half measures by those that only do their
jobs. Pass along the word to all of your commands, that a new day in Starfleet begins
today. The status quo is no longer acceptable.
Dismissed."

As they started to get up to depart, Lasiter added, "Rear Admiral Smallwood and
Admiral t'Llhweiir please remain."
