"Thank you," Bedru replied.
(ooc: a vulcan who's using "roughly" in his conversation. *fascinating!!* 8-) )

She forwarded the scientific portions of the reports to her staff specialists
for their analysis along with the question she had about whether there were
indications/foreshadows of a natural disasters.
She also sent copies of the reports to the specialists in first contact issues
for their opinions. Then, she looked at what the Vulcans had to say about the
political and cultural development of the planet's inhabitants.
The original Vulcan survey noted that the planet had a moderate potiential for volcano
activity.
The "experts" got back to Bedru just before Sorensen arrived. They reported that
there was an island grouping that looked suspicious. They more or less formed a ring.
With the limited data at hand, they speculated that the planet was struck by a
asteroid of significant size. Large enough to destroy what they believed to be a much
larger body of land. The resulting explosion from the impact would have changed the
climate globally. A naturally occuring nuclear winter of sorts. Any cold blooded
species would not have faired well. While hit hard, warm blooded species would have
found it relatively easier to survive. They could not speculate further without more
information, but obviously the effects had subsided sometime in the 80 or so years
since the disaster.

Staek chimmed in, "Admiral, LCMR Sorensen has arrived."
{response}
Upon entry, he assumed a rigid posture. "Admiral Bedru, I am here to provide whatever
information on planet Dultar V you require."
