t'Llhweiir nodded, keeping her expression carefully neutral. She was quickly coming to understand that the biggest challenge of being Lasiter's chief-of-staff would not be carrying out his orders, but understanding and responding to the underlying intent. Strangely enough, their past association did not make that any easier. She was getting the impression that Lasiter not only expected Second Fleet's command to fail, he wished them to do so.
