A few moments later, Commander McTiernan arrived in the shuttle bay with Lt Morris to join the two women from Spacedock. "My apologies ladies, it took longer to bring Lt Knucklebiter to the medical bay and return with Mr Perry than I thought it would." He looked over the Runabout and saw that the technicians had already departed. "I assume that we are ready to go?"
Aravis shook her head. "I think we can head out if both of you are ready," she said as she glanced at the newcomer. "Welcome to the group, Lieutenant. I figure you gents and the good Doctor here can relax while I drive that way you can access the sensors without the distraction of piloting?" Hilda nodded and moved into one of the other stations in the cockpit of the Runabout. The two Kerry station officers followed suit a moment later. All three of them started setting up their workstations to their expected needs and preferences. Aravis completed the checklist for launching the Runabout. A moment later, the whole group felt the ship rise from the deck of the shuttle bay and glide out of it. "Bringing us in line with the course used by the Pawtuxet," she said as they started on the path taken by the missing Runabout. The Pawtuxet glided through space. Its sensors reached out to try and capture any particle of evidence left behind by the last Runabout that had followed this route. There was very little that was out of place for the region. There was still trace amounts of exhaust that had been emitted as the Blackstone had made its way toward its mysterious destiny. McTiernan and Morris were looking over their own readings when a quick intake could be heard coming from Research Station Kerry's CO. "I have an interesting reading coming in in Quadrant C-4. There is some type of radiation there that I ... wait a minute." The other members of the crew could hear him as he worked at his console. "I believe it is some sort of radiation that would be similar to a transporter?" The doctor was not completely surprised by the comment. While it would not have been her first guess, it was something that she and Aravis had been discussing earlier. Actually, it was a good sign. (Aravis?)
