The Runabout glided toward the dark spot of Jupiter. There was little indication of changes as they approached, but the radiation level was starting to rise as they approached. Hilda turned to the others from her console. "I am showing a ship coming in fast. She looks like a Peregrine-class shuttle. She is heading our way." The dark spot quickly began to morph. It was taking on the characteristics that were captured by the missing scientists. Aravis took the Runabout into a series of evasive maneuvers, backing them away from the spot. "What is happening with the approaching shuttle?" Hilda turned back to her console. "It is heading in our direction. It does not seem to have noticed that we are here. Either that or it just doesn't care." "Warn them off the area. Tell them that the area has been closed off to space traffic because of a natural phenomenon that is endangering the space lanes." Perry Morris opened a comm line and warned them off, but there was no response to his calls. At least there was no verbal response. The Peregrine-shuttle brought its weapons systems online almost as soon as
he had announced that they were a Starfleet ship. The shuttles systems
targetted the Runabout.
