"Would it be all right if I went in?" "Absolutely, Commander," said the synth-voice pleasantly. "Thank you," replied the human before she made her way to Kitanya's office. The Caitian was sitting behind her desk, but there was a somewhat rank smell in the room. It could only be coming from the steaming coffee up beside the admiral's right hand. The mug itself was somewhat worn and faded, but Daphne could clearly see the insignia of a starship on it, the USS Defender. An old ship, a famous ship. But the liquid inside it stank. Kitanya looked up. "Commanderrr," she smiled. She looked better, more rested. "Pleassse, come in, sssit down. Ssso how was yourrr firrrssst day?" Daphne made her way over to one of the seats facing the Caitian and made herself comfortable. "It went surprisingly well. I teamed up with Captain Tr'Lawsh of the Caitian Defense Force. She has proven to be invaluable in the investigation." (Kitanya?)
"It seems that these felinids may be a branch of the Caitian family
tree. It is likely that their ancestors were somehow abducted from among
the Caitian population before being genetically alterred and turned into a
slave, fighting force by their 'masters.'" It was not good news to be
passing along, but it was what they found.
(Kitanya?)
"They seem to dedicated to their 'masters', but there may be an underground
movement for the felinids to start expressing their independence."
(Kitanya?)
