Daphne was suprised that she had not come to that conclusion herself. It seemed like an obvious choice, but she had missed. That explained why Kitanya was the Admiral, and she was the Commander. She smiled. "I think that would be a great way to not only get to know them better, but it might help us gain their respect as well."

"I'm not surrre what will gain us theirrr rrrespect. They don't behave norrrmally." That probably meant normally for a Caitian. All of the Caitians seemed edgy around these felinids.

"I will make sure to bring up the idea with Captain Tr'Lawsh."

"Good. Make surrre the Klingons don't abuse them behind yourrr back. I think Captain Tr'Lawsh will see to that, but I'd like to make sure. Starfleet has a bad enough reputation right now, we don't need a prrrisonerr abuse scandal going on too."

"Good worrrk, Commanderrr. Keep it up. Now, on anotherrr matterrr, I want to know something." She looked at Daphne appraisingly. "You've been here a few days, had one full day on the job. Sometimes forrr field people, being called in to be on staff herrre at HQ can be the kiss of death. They starrrt to lose theirrr edge, become unfocused, despondent. They miss the action, the adrrrenaline." She was asking without asking, 'Will this be you?'
