Daphne understood what the Admiral was trying to say.  She was not quite willing to give up on this project.  "While I must admit I am not used to being an investigator, I am enjoying working with Captain Tr'Lawsh.  I would like to see the investigation through.  I am just more accostumed to undercover work."

"You will get it in this job, Commanderrr.  I have plans forr you.  But rrright now, these felinids arre the most immediate thrrreat, and we must get what inforrmation we can to aid the efforrrts on that frrront.  On that note, I want to know how you would feel if I asked you to do some interrrnal investigations, underrrcoverr operrrations among Starrrfleet perrrsonnel."  Internal investigations were the least coveted, most despised, and it was not uncommon for people to refuse to take part in them.  Kit wouldn't push Daphne, but she hoped she was up for the challenge.

Daphne felt her eyebrown raise as she listened to the Caitian speak.  While she was pleased to hear that undercover work is not completely beyong the realm of possibilities in her new assignment, she was surprised to hear that there was need for an internal investigation.  While such things were not unheard of in Starfleet, they were not something that the head of Special Operations took a particular interest in.  While she knew that many did not like such assignments, she knew they were necessary if there were officers abusing their position.  "I would have no problem with such an assignment, sir."
