"My supplier's assurance about the quality of the ale was accurate," she said
with obvious appreciation.
Ael nodded. "It is more than simply adequate," she agreed. She was
certain she had easier access, and would have to ensure that she had
a case sent to the woman. "I believe I promised you a story." Her
smile became crooked again. (OOC: and I will try and hurry things so
we don't stay forever a day behind).
(ooc: ok)
Inside, there had been an overload which had caused a lot of charred
circuitry. My sister, Rhiana, had commanded a small detachment that
had been sent to realign the platform and she met him at the hatch,
clearly injured. According to Matthew, she had a broken arm, a deep
scalp wound with a lot of ongoing blood loss, and she was coughing up
blood, which told him she had a severe lung injury as well. Matthew
quickly surveyed the remainder of her team and realized that Rhiana
was the most injured, so he turned his attention to her. She made it
clear to him, in no uncertain terms, that he was to see to her people
first, regardless of the relative merits of the injuries. You surely
know him well enough to know that only medical severity determines
his immediacy of care?"
"Indeed," Carrhae replied.
"Well, Rhiana's tirade continued, even as he bandaged her. When she
finally realized he would not leave her until last, she hit him. Very
hard, from what I understand, across the face, and made it quite
clear that as a sub-commander, he would, like it or not, follow the
orders of a full commander."
Carrhae simply raised an eyebrow, allowing Ael to continue uninterrupted.
"So, he sedated her. When she woke up, back in his infirmary, she
had a few more choice words for him. Then an Ennarain showed up, one
that Matthew apparently had treated before. The Ennarain let Rhiana
know that her behavior towards this human healer would not be
tolerated, and she was ordered to apologize. Well, she oculdn't well
ignore that order after berating Matthew for refusing to follow
orders, so she did apologize and ask his forgiveness. He said he
would grant his forgiveness, but only under one condition: She had to
go on a date with him."
Carrhae was grateful, for dignity sake, that she had already swallowed
her last
sip of ale. Had any been in her mouth, it surely would have been rather
forcibly ejected. As it was, she could not help but laugh at the images that
the story conjured. "I presume that she accepted," she queried.
