"How many applications has the Council received since it's formation, and how many of them have been approved?"

It was clear by the questioning that Marconis was very much interested in the application and it's formal process.

It was a question that Caimlyn had expected, but not one that he had been looking forward to answering. There was really no easy way to respond. "Almost everyone currently on the Council are founding members. As a result, the application process was being finalized. The Ramesar are the first to go through the process."

"I see." From the way that Marconis answered made it clear that the answer was disappointing. To make things worse it was the third 'surprise' that the new delegation was dealt. First, Watson and most of the Council gone when they arrived. Second, the Venasians, and lastly what was being taken as a hap-hazard approach to Council membership.

"Will the applications process be delayed due to the unexpected departure of the Plantoc, Ambassador Watson, and company?"

Levy spoke up, "Emissary it is only fair that the sitting members of the Council have an opportunity to meet with you in Council. If there is a delay I expect it to be minor and expect business to resume quickly upon their return."

"Mr. Levy, unless I am wrong in my understanding of the Diplomatic Council and the role of Ambassadors, all members are present and accounted for. The member governments are represented on the Council by qualified ambassadorial staff if not by a full ambassador."

"I can understand your concerns on the matter, Mr. Emissary," picked up Dai'Cou. "As you can imagine, none of us take your application lightly. We are all proper representatives of our government, but we do not have the leeway to vote on matters that our superiors have. We will have to speak with them or our homeworlds before we are able to vote for acceptance. With that said, the Council is meant to be open to those interested in participating. It should not take us long to go over the information needed so we can make the appropriate decision."

(marconis?)
