Gabe's mother glanced toward him. "What sort of situation might
bring
you to Earth?" "Well, there was a woman found in cryo that is from a race that the Federation has not had contact with in some time. Considering my background in xenobiology, they thought I could help." "Interesting. Maybe this is something that you might want to talk to your father about, considering his background with the Department of State." "I had not thought of that, Maman," replied the baby with a smile. "Thanks." Gabe turned quickly to face Lucien. "Should I set up an appointment with you in the office." Gabe did no think they should be talking about the situation in public. "That would be wonderful," added the diplomat. "My schedule is fairly open so we should have no problem squeezing you in." Lucien lifted a glass to Celine. "Have you and the kids had much difficulty settling in on the station?" His daughter-in-law nodded. "Actually, the Chief Medical Officer has proven to be a good friend. She has a daughter that seems to like hanging around with Jackie and Jules so they already have a playmate. And it is always nice to be close to home and family." Gabe could not help but agree. He had been away from Earth for far
too long. The Ares family had always been close and it had been tough
being on assignment so far away. He had actually been happy to be assigned
to Io because it meant he would only be hours away from family
get-togethers. He looked to his other sisters. "Do you both have
quarters on the station as well?"
Daphne shook her head. "I am currently in housing in San
Francisco. My office in Special Operations is there." The eldest
child turned her attention to her younger sister.
"I guess you could say that I am temporarily," replied Ariel. "The
Centurian is docked at the station, but I am still in my quarters on the
ship."
