Mandrake Soft is no longer in bankruptcy (came out about a month or
so ago). Version 10.0 does have support for some SATA controllers
and drives, but I don't recall which ones.

I made the switch from RedHat to Mandrake a few years ago and have
been very happy with this distro. I am using in my desktop and (to
bring slightly back on topic) three different mail filter boxes that
run Postfix/amavisd-new/clamav/spamassassin.
