Hi Johanna,

The work-around mentioned in the other thread doesn't have any impact
on your calendar events, so they shouldn't duplicate.  You will need
to open the 'Terminal' application, located inside your 'Utilities'
folder and paste the following line into that window:

defaults delete com.apple.AddressBook.sync ABSyncInStandby

Be sure you hit the 'return' key on the keyboard after you paste that
line in the Terminal window.
