I posted a message last week about using the speedtouch modem with
Redhat 9. Using the info on the link Duncan provided I have
successfully installed the modem and got online, sort of.
When I run speedtouch-start (both with & without --pppoe) it
appears to connect ok and I'm assigned a local IP address that's
valid for my ISP. However, when I load Mozilla or any other
browser, I get a 'host not found' error. Almost as if I'm not
connected.
What are the parameters VPI and VCI ? I've used the values shown
for UK BTopenworld, even though I use virgin net. Could this be the
problem ?
