What this means is I didn't write a very clear sentence...I like to trim
replies, but I've left a lot in this time, since my lack of clarity is at
issue...in particular, my pronoun (it) didn't have the right object
(TR7/8) and my sentence made it appear that the object/noun was the
Spitfire.

No Doubt the Spit is a real Triumph - there is a frame under there and it
passes the "bang over a bump" test...
