Yeah this is a whole other discussion. Opinions vary widely. Getting the
right Spring/Strut combination is almost an art form.

There are a lot of different springs available. H&R, Sprint, Interax and a
few others. There not that many struts available. Basically Stock and KYB.

The issue with the struts is that the spring perch is part of the strut
making replacements difficult to find. Years ago Carrera made a housing for
the spring perch which allowed you to use a wider variety of struts. They no
longer make these (I got mine!).

Yes, you can put aftermarket springs on with stock struts. It will work.
Depending on which springs you choose your ride quality may be affected. You
may end up with a 'pogo' effect where the strut can not dampen the
springiness of the spring. Or you may find that it bottoms out all the time.

Basically what you need to do is some research, check out some of the
message boards, saturnfans.com, Xtremesaturn.com etc... And gather opinions
from other people. If possible try to take a ride in someone else's car and
see how you like the ride.

I have the old carrera struts with the new H&R race springs. This is a
brutal setup for street driving. It works great on the race course but there
is no way I could drive this car every day on the streets here in MA. The
car is waaay to stiff. Highway performance isn't to bad but street driving
is a pain, I feel every crack in the pavement.

I remember riding in Matt's car a few years ago, I don't know what he had
for suspension but it was a comfortable ride and gave about a 2-inch drop
which looked real good.

OK, Matt, Joe, Justin, anyone else, I'm not all up on what is available in
the strut/spring market these days. You care to chime in with your
experiences?
