A few years ago the wind blew over my heavy Bogen tripod with Nikon F3 and Tokina 100 to 300 lens attached somewhere between Shumla and Langtry on the SP Sunset route. The fall drove the lens mount into the camera body totalling the F-3. On advice of the Nikon repair station I sent the lens, apparently undamaged except for the mangled lens mount, directly to Tokina. I got a prompt reply and estimate. It was reasonable and took about three weeks. The results were great and I still use the lens regularly. I just wish it were about two stops faster. As you can tell I'm pretty high on Tokina
