Interesting comments folks!  Yes, Dave I step into lots of s*** all the time,
but I think this warranted a discussion.  ; - )
        A case could be made for zoom lenses and digital press publishing.  You 
can
correct for the loss of sharpness in Photoshop®.  However the real test of how
good is your zoom lens is when you blow it up on actual photographic paper,
(i.e. 8x10 or 11x14 for 35mm).  Okay, how many of you have blown up your
slides and negatives to see if your zoom lens is sharp?
        Also incidentally all 6 of our photography instructors are professionals
also.  Nothing amateur about our department.  I work there as an assistant and
would be glad to show anybody around!
