I would disagree with you there Dave. There is technology to make
quality transparencies from any digital image. At the CMA convention in
March, AP showed an entire slide presentation that was made from images
taken with their digital cameras. I don't think anyone would be able to
tell that the images were from a digital source, or manipulated film
source in the cases we are speaking of. I was quite impressed with the
images and their quality, since previously the only digital to
transparency output I had seen in the flesh was presentation graphics of
graphs and charts. So, given they had the computer equipment, anyone
should be able to edit and produce chromes from their negatives. I
guess the one hitch here is to know how available and costly the above
mentioned reproduction equipment is via high end photo labs, to which I
have no knowledge... Anyone have any experience/ideas on that aspect?
