Gang,

Dave's post about the Astia offer had me scratching my head again. I have 
probably asked this question before, but what is the difference between 
the Astia and Provia relative to railroad photography? Astia acually 
seems to me more popular with train photogs than the Provia. (Or maybe 
the Astia shooters are just more vocal about it?)

I've shot a fair number of rolls of the Provia, with mixed but generally 
acceptable results. The "mixed" part stems mostly from my learning the 
ins and outs of the film's curve. But if the Astia is better I'd rather 
learn that first. It's hard enough reprogramming my brain to think Provia 
as it is ... why do it twice?!
