Gang, Dave's post about the Astia offer had me scratching my head again. I have probably asked this question before, but what is the difference between the Astia and Provia relative to railroad photography? Astia acually seems to me more popular with train photogs than the Provia. (Or maybe the Astia shooters are just more vocal about it?) I've shot a fair number of rolls of the Provia, with mixed but generally acceptable results. The "mixed" part stems mostly from my learning the ins and outs of the film's curve. But if the Astia is better I'd rather learn that first. It's hard enough reprogramming my brain to think Provia as it is ... why do it twice?!
