As for Astia, Ive found it to be compatable with K25 in slide shows. That's
something that can't be done with most Fuji film. They just jump off the
screen at when mixed with Kodachrome. After viewing a Provia (or Sensia) slide
and a Kodachrome of the same shot you want to throw the Kodachrome away, but
then you remember, that's what the image looked like and you keeo it.

Fujichrome's have been sharp enough for a long time, but they're just too
saturated unless you keep them together. I will say that I've had better
success getting Fuji's published because of their punch

The Astia that I've shot has been all over Southern California. Full sun to
snow and it works. I've just ordered some more thru B&H.

have
probably asked this question before, but what is the difference between
the Astia and Provia relative to railroad photography? Astia actually
seems to me more popular with train photogs than the Provia."

The June 1998 Shutterbug magazine has a review of Sensia II and Astia
on pg 116 and following. Check it out. While it does not directly pertain to
rail photography, the comments should help you decide. I prefer Sensia II.
I have been very satisfied with it. Shutterbug says the Provia has
"punchier colors" than Astia.
