Manual standpipes must be kind of scary to use, empty to 150+ PSI of water
in seconds.
Kind of like charging a test header full open and throttling at the header.
Big no-no.

I have not seen the writing, but the State FM here in CT
(taxachusetts south) has disallowed manual standpipes in the past.
I'm trying to find out for sure.
