The frontage increase is "slightly" independent of the requirement for sprinklers. A 5A, R2 building is limited to 12,000 sf per floor and a height of 50 feet or 3 stories. 504.2 allows ancrease to 60 feet or 4 stories. 506.1 allows you to get to 17,000 sf. for the largest floor. Then 506.4, Exception 2 allows an area increase for 13R buildings to 17,000 sf x 4 stories or a whopping 68,000 sf total building size (total of all floors.) Not my favorite section of the code. Often overlooked for limiting the size of buildings, but not in this situation. -- Best regards, Daniel Kaczor, Plans Examiner [EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ Sprinklerforum mailing list [email protected] http://lists.firesprinkler.org/mailman/listinfo/sprinklerforum To Unsubscribe, send an email to:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (Put the word unsubscribe in the subject field)
