I think you have to ask yourself, Do you feel lucky? No, that's something completely different. Let's try another one, How many sprinklers would you foresee operating in any given fire? A fire originating in one of the closets is going to get drowned by the sprinkler inside the closet, so that sprinkler and maybe 2 others in the hall. A fire originating in the hall - at least 5 in the hall and however many more it takes to makes you feel comfortable. If the total number of DA sprinklers in 900 sf (not including those in closets) exceeds the numbers from above, then you likely can use the closet loophole and still sleep well at night (with or without the flaming stress management).
