You may want to talk to you contractor about a single supply for all four
units fire system, or one larger dom. Supply in one unit and 3 smaller
supplies in the other units. That way only one larger backflow, and you can
still zone by unit if the GC wants, or at least by floor.

Thanks for your reply...I was thinking the same thing. We've got this
subdivision where the previous FP contractor designed them to 13D's now our
design is being questioned since we provided a four head calc resulting in
larger BFP's, larger piping and a different style of sprinkler to be able to
accomodate the low water pressure. The subdivision is wondering why our
design is so different than the previous FP contractors.... gotta love it!
The local AHJ is no help wither since they pretty much rubber stamp
everything 'approved' anyway.
