I'd check vic and/or Grinnell websites/manuals.

I've run grooved galv, wrapped, to a 90* pattern FDC without serious
consequences.

In the past when I have checked, I was told in no uncertain times that
Grooved fittings are NOT listed for UG use.

Subject: Grooved Underground, Thrust Blocks Required?

A quick question about galvanized steel underground...

Galvanized 3", about 80 ft, grooved fittings...
Would this require thrust blocks?
