Tom,

Why is it out of 13D? Because it's a "Waiting Room"? Isn't it still in
a structure the size of a SFD? Has the fuel load increased
significantly? How high is the ceiling?

Maybe I just need more information, but it seems a two sprinkler
calculation may still be appropriate.

Subject: 13D Question

Got a SFD 13D system I designed and almost ready for installation.
The Owner, a psyche has decided to move his practice home and make the
Basement his Office.
I'm a little concerned about the big open waiting area he wants to make,
5
heads to cover.
It was all cut up before, no more than 2 heads per room, finished.
It's clearly out of 13D criteria and I can't support even 4 heads, I
tried,
even with minimum spacing. Plus, the service is already in so I can't
ask
to have it increased. I did tell him tamper switches were required and
some
real sort of fire alarm (we were just putting in a bell and
interconnecting
the smokes plus his security system to the flow switch). I've told him
we
have a problem so he wants to do it later.

I need to write him a letter to posture and protect myself because we're
going forward with the family room, in-law bedroom and toilet, and
storage
rooms as drawn. Anybody done this?

Thanks Campers!

Tom
