I have always looked at the width as being the shortest side. Take for instance
2' wide duct that is 15' long. Is it really 15' wide and 2' long?
Thanks,

ubject: 2'x4' Light Obstruction
I have a situation where I have an open ceiling tiled hallway and there are 2'
x
' light fixtures. According to NFPA-13 (2007) Sec. 8.6.5.3.3 it seems I need
overage under a 4' wide fixed obstruction. My sprinklers are 5' above the
ights. Do they need to have ceiling tiles in place around it or is there a
olution I am missing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
