When I was a young firefighter we had a felt mill with an oven in town. They had a fire in the oven about every couple months. No sprinklers. For the life of firefighters and being able to keep the jobs in town is IMHO a very good reason to sprinkler many ovens (if not all). I do agree there might be occasions where something in lieu of sprinklers might be safer to all.
