The facility was a high-rise residential occupancy, designed to NFPA-13.
Heads were QR semi-recessed chrome pend, K=5.6, ½" orifice, 155°. We
replaced with same, but used 286° for a week or two until remediation was
complete. No design change at all, only downside to entire project would
have been a short time delay to fuse temperature should a fire occur in the
interim.

How do you replace heads based on a minimum density that no longer exists?
Speaking of the residential heads before the 0.05 minimum of today? Sounds
like a few nightmares having to re-calc and replace piping in some
circumstances?

We had been involved in the Bed-bug remediation about two years ago. On day
one we changed all heads to be subject to 175° heat-up to high temp heads,
if I remember correctly, used 286°. They did the heat remediation, and
after all the bugs are gone, we went back and replaced all heads with the
original. Worked pretty well.

Ok, new issue (to me) Customer (sorta a funded group retirement home) has
bedbug problem. Bedbug exterminator has been hired. The process is to
isolate and heat the rooms (2 per day) to about 175 degrees F with special
heaters and therefore cook the bugs and their eggs. The property is
sprinklered. Sprinkler contractor has been hired to drain the system, remove
and plug heads in 2 rooms and refill. End of day, restore the system.
Repeat process 17 times.
Has anybody dealt with this?
Is there a better way.
Is there a cheaper way?
