A fitting (typically grooved) created from segments (pie wedges) of pipe that 
are welded together to create a bend.  Similar to this, but you'd see them 
grooved for fire protection use:

  Also commonly called a Seg Weld, Segmentally welded fitting, etc.  They 
aren't super common anymore but they're out there.
