Jay, If the existing building was required to have emergency power and therefore an auto-transfer switch for this fire pump, then you must maintain this condition. Unless the occupancy has changed and the building no longer requires it. The AHJ would have to approve a condition like this. You may consider a matching controller and re-use the existing transfer switch. Just a thought.
