You didn't ask for a second opinion, but I would just like to add that this is actually one of the more obvious no-brainer questions that might be posed in the layout of a sprinkler system. I'm not sure that its well enough known that CPVC is listed for underground use. I have wrestled with AHJs who first rejected the proposed application and then insisted that it had to be dressed blocked after we got over that first hump. But NFPA 13 and 24 as well as the manufacturers' installation guidelines make it clear that this product can be very easily and universally applied to underground applications and as a fusion joint does not require any extreme methods for thrust restraint.
We use it to cross walkways and connect accessory structures to larger building systems all the time. We've done it in both public and private projects and its not only easier and cheaper to install than any metallic piping, it's likely to be infinitely longer lived. It was actually the GC that recommended we use galvanized pipe "because that's how they always have done it"...... CPVC it is. But if you're interested in maintaining a good customer relationship, it is possibly the worst choice. Cpvc is listed for underground service and is a much better long term option for this application.
