Remember that including the recommendation to sprinkler the garage in your NFPA 25 report you are outside the parameters of the requirements of NFPA 25 and can possible expose your company to un-expected risks. Place all recommendations not covered in NFPA 25 for improvements/extend protection of sprinkler system in a document separate from your NFPA 25 inspection report.

If it was, it doesn’t matter if it meets current code unless there were building changes that according to code required areas or systems to be updated. Most owners are not going to update fire protection systems unless the law requires them to do so. It’s a huge expenditure with little to no return on investment for property owners.
