One can already access sql-ledger using M$ Explorer. Why re-invent the
wheel? What are the advantages?

One real advantage of sql-ledger is that one can access it from any
browser, including lynx in text mode. This makes it possible to remotely
access the server via a secure shell, create the invoice and email it to
the client while sitting in their office. AFAIK, no other accounting
package offers this feature, and I would hate to see it written out of the
code.

Never heard of lynx? It's a *nix-based, resource friendly text-only web
browser that can be run through a secure shell rather than needing
expensive VPN configurations. Much sweeter than M$ Explorer ever was.
