"Scan playlist only" itself takes several minutes, because it does all sorts of other scans, including fulltext, database optimisation, cover art and so on.
However, my main problem is that it triggers 'custom scan' which takes 2 to 3 hours. I can turn this off (but only for any rescan, not just the playlist one), but then it doesn't do a custom scan overnight, so I have to turn it back on before retiring, and I forget to do so and get very grumpy in the morning. What is a 'bmf' view? I did a quick google but nothing obvious came up. My use case may appear a little strange. I have grabbed a copy of the LMS database and am developing a little database application of my own to create playlists, including randomised ones. The idea is that the application can apply filters such as composer, genre, orchestra, samplerate (min and max), artists, rating range (custom scan), work and workartist (custom scan classical tags), and so on for almost all tag types. It can then create a straight playlist, or randomise it (including randomising whole classical works). Whilst I can do some of this with custom browse menus, and some of it with a UPnP tool called upplay and minimserver, I can't do all of what I want with one tool, so am developing my own. LMS 7.9 on VortexBox Midi box, Xubuntu 14.04, FLACs 16->24 bit, 44.1->192kbps. LMS plugin UPnP/DLNA Bridge to MF M1 CLiC (to 405/2 amp & ESLs) & Marantz CR603 UPnP renderers. Alternatively Minimserver & Upplay to same & to upmpdcli/mpd PC renderers. Squeezelite to Meridian USB Explorer DAC to PC speakers/headphones. Wireless Xubuntu 15.10 laptop firefox/upplay or Android 'phone with Squeeze-Commander/BubbleUPnP controls LMS/Minimserver. Also a Touch with EDO, plus spare, unused. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ PasTim's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=41642 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105074 _______________________________________________ Squeezecenter mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
