I've had this problem for a while on a new server that I set up. Search no longer works except for Advanced Search which isn't always easy to do on my setup. Running 7.9.0 on a Win 10 machine. The library stats show:
I guess you're talking about the web UI? What about other UIs, mobile apps etc.? Do you have a player connected to that LMS?

And yes, that's much too long for a scan... Most likely it has crashed. Check the scanner.log
