yes, it is running on the vortexbox, NOT windows. If you're running vortexbox 2.3, nothing on that will update automatically going forward. But once you install the LMS 7.9, you really shouldn't need to do anything to update anytime soon. I haven't bothered to update to Vortexbox 2.4 myself. I've only bothered to install LMS 7.9. p.s. to login to the vortexbox, username is "root" and password is "vortexbox" (unless you've changed it).
