Loudness Reference:60, my comment was referred to that line, with
Loudness gain 0 and globlòal reduction of 3db.

Gain Reduction:3, Loudness Gain:3, Loudness Reference:60 should,
instead,  give you a moderate louder sound, it is a very gentle and safe
correction.

About the tick, are you using single track files, not cue? if so problem
cold easily be that you have tags in your files that LMS does not
recognize and reproduce as music, so the tick.  Could you try to remove
tags in one of them (i.e. using foobar) and see what's happen?
