The iplayer DASH/HLS URLs can be used with alarm if there are no network problems - IIRC the restart mecahanism of alarm checks URL and I wonder if it is check the chunked http URL or the playlist "iplayer" URL (don't know if the other URLs in the iplayer URL may confuse its parsing). But with a problem connection best to play safe and avoid chunked http. To get image / metadata iplayer URLs is still needed. Tune-in BBC MP3 will give basic metadata The many delay messages shown both at night and in the morning shows there is persitent bad service from BBC or problem with local LAN.
