Definitely try the alternate CDN for your evening listening - it is no
effort to choose the different menu and if the errors goes away then you
know it is  BBC/CDN issues  and you can use it for your alarm.

with CDN server / network being either overloaded or possibly being
upgraded with some equipment offline. By using a different CDN - you can
bypass this temporary disruption with no changes to software or quality.
