Good work! "Whatever works" works! I could not (and still can't) find how to turn off "ax" in the online version of your Orbi system's manual that I've been consulting. Good job finding that! Incidentally, I also use powerline networking. While not as good as dedicated ethernet, it works reasonably well most of the time. There are occasional glitches, but it's much more reliable than wifi in my house. If, at some time in the future, you still have devices connected to the T-Mobile modem/router and you have problems getting them to communicate with devices connected to the Orbi, you may have to consider Access Point mode again. As long as there are no problems, there's no need for you to worry about it. (Assuming no security risks are involved.) LMS 8 nightly running on Raspberry Pi OS.
