Where is the downside in getting the consumer a lower price? Everyone of these services is a numbers game. As in, "We have to have X number of members by this date, next we have to have Y number of members by this date 6 months down the road from X." Anyway, Napster is now owned by Best Buy, so for Napster it's not all about just generating buzz and having $12.95 a month members anymore. The piggy bank just got bigger, but now there is more pressure to perform and show results. This is basically a play at that.
