Anyone could work out that functionality as crucial as an alarm in a bedside radio should not rely on a connection to the internet connection. Even after that product and user testing should have thrown up the issue. Oh, and then there was beta testing (sop) too...... hard to imagine that the issue was not brought up there. ;-)
