Small point - overfilling boiler can lead to hydraulic locking in 
cylinders.  Re condensation, leave throttle valve cracked open and the 
reverser at the front whilst raising steam.  This will hopefully warm 
the cylinders up pre run, and the open reverser will allow condensate to 
escape.  On the real thing they would have cracked open the throttle and 
opened the draincocks.
