Legally no you can't copy and distribute Apple commercial software. You are
not likely to get caught, but it isn't honest or ethical.

For my own personal use, I ALWAYS make working copies and put the originals
away in a safe place (and no I don't mean sold on eBay). What I find quite
convient is to make a CDR that is bootable, with a full installer for OS
8.5, plus the installer to update to 8.6, Clean Install Assistant, TechTool
lite, and anything else that seems handy.
