Do you? I've never run 7.6.1 on my 4000, and never had the original 
system CD since I bought it used. The only problem I have ever had 
relating to CD Rom drivers was with my recently installed Sony CDRW 
asking me to eject or initialize a non-existent CD, and that problem 
went away the moment I upgraded to OS 9.1.
