You'd likely have one or two dead SCSI ports, and possibly one or two
dead computers. The only old Macs that were able to do this that I know
of were the Mac IIs with the ROM jumper you could take off and often a
ROM to take out (which includes the SE/30, incidentally) and the
powerbooks with SCSI Disk Mode.

I don't believe any PPC could do that.
